27th Sept

We Started Off with a warm up and when we finished that we did The dance. Twice without people coming on and then we did it twice with the people coming on. I did forget to bring a pillow to do with the dance. Anyway after we did them four dances we split up into groups and did them in groups of about 5-7 the group I was in we where right ok we were a bit fast but not by much.

After this we where toled to do our monolouges and work on the one we have not worked on the most so I dicded to do Our day out "Mr Briggs" and I think I did really good I think I've learnt it all. In the monolouge I'm on a bus so I do have limted space to work with but I thought that just standing there would be boring, so I dicded that at the first bit of the monolouge I start at the back or in the middle. so I will start at the middle or back and when I say "Right, listen." I pause a bit then walk forward and talk but not at the same time I might put in small pauses to move foward and then at then near the end of my 2nd part I look back and go back pretned to look at a little girl and then say "are you listening girl!" in a Staccato voice which is slow but loud so I make sure she can understand me. And then face the front again and do the rest of my speech. It that I tried it diffrent ways which my toutor recmmonded First I did it like how I was doing it next I did it using as little space has possable then has much space and lastly I had to chose two emtions and only use them so I thought and dicicded that the way he speaks calm but he does get frustred at times so I picked them two and I liked it it felt netrual so I stock with doing it in them two. I never showed them back but I will show at least one of them back next week.

25th Sept

There were a few of us missing on this day and all we did was read and memorise our monologues and show them back. Out of the three that I'm doing I showed back my safe option which is Midsummer Night's Dream "Oberon" and got good feedback. I was good with how I blocked it but I need to talk slower and clearer.

20th sept

The first part of our lesson we worked on our dance piece by learning the rest of the dance and using an object has a pillow, we need to use within the dance that I will need to bring in next week as it will be easier actully using a pillow then anything else. We are split up into five groups and worked out which ones come on when the first two rows come on from the start which I'm in.

The second part of the lesson we did the monologues that we are doing, but before this we did some acting exercises. The first we did was we were told to hide for no reson at all and we all hid and were found really easily, but then I was told that I had to find them and the rest would hide because if they are caught then something bad would happen to them. It took me a while to find everyone as they hid way better than the time before.

After this we did another exercise which involved three people going outside then back in as angry people who wanted something, while the rest of use had to act normal until they came in. When they bursted in I was in the corner and slipped under the curtains unotcied.

When we had done all these we worked on our monologues.

13th September

For the first half of the lesson we did the 2nd unit performing workshop. For this unit we are doing a contempoary dance and doing a dance for a song called River Deep Mountain High by Ike & Tina Turner which we need chairs and a pillow for.
After we did this we go into groups and were doing a question on a big piece of paper and everyone got a different question. The group I was in got "why would a audition be like your birthday?" and we had to write a few ideas of what we thought it was like.

11th september

We looked at what we needed to do in the next 2 units that we are doing which were,
A)Choose 3 monologues to audition with
B)Do a contemporary dance

We start B) on Thursday. so we need three monologues so we went to the LRC to go and look at play books to find 3 before going I decided that it would be best to have:
1)A safe one (one that I know I can do and have done before)
2)One that I have not seen before but is easy to read and remember
3)Another that I have not done before but is a bit hard to read

So for my first choice I'm going with Midsummer Nights Dream -  Oberon Act 4 Scene 1 when Titania and Peaseblossom go to sleep and I'm looking at another one from "Our day out" and look at one of Mr Briggs' monologue.
